FAQ for Mountain Harbor Riding Stable

Here are the answers to some of the most common questions. If you do not find the answer to your question, just give us a call  – 870-867-3022 or e-mail. We will respond quickly to your requests.

At what age can child ride by themselves?
For the most part a child over the age 6 or older is allowed to ride solo.

Is experience required for the Trail Ride?
No experience is required. If you need some pointers, the trail guide will provide assistance.

Is this a “Guided” Trail Ride.
Yes, an experienced guide will lead you on the around trail.

What is the route of the trail?
The trail ride will take you through the Ouachita Mountains and at one of the scenic points you will be able to get a “birds eye view” of Lake Ouachita.

About how long is the Trail Ride?
The actual length of the trail ride can vary. Normally the length of the ride is between 50 to 60 minutes.

Should I bring a camera?
Yes, by all means. There are several scenic points along the trail. You may also get an change to snap a picture or two or the wildlife that sometimes can be seen along the trail.

Will we be able to observe any wildlife during Trail Ride?
There is an abundance of wildlife along the trail. From atop your mount many tame dear can be observed along the trail. In addition there are wild turkeys, raccoons, squirrels and our famous woodpeckers.

What clothing should be worn for the Trail Ride?
You can wear anything that you are comfortable with.

Are boots or a certain type of shoe required for the ride?
Any type of shoe is acceptable, even flip flops, but tennis shoes are recommended for the ride.

We have a large group, is there something special required?
If you have a large group, call ahead to arrange the details of your Trail Ride.

I have a Birthday Party and want to arrange for a Trail Ride. What do I need to do?
All groups and birthday parties are welcome here at Mountain Harbor Riding Stable. Please call ahead to make reservations and any special requests that you may have.

Do I need to make reservations?
Yes, reservations are required. If you wish to schedule a Trail Ride, other than during the summer months, Mountain Harbor Riding Stable is open by request only.

What are the hours of operation for the stable?
During the summer months (June, July and August) the stable is open at 9am, 7 days a week. In the non-summer months the stable is open by request only.

Does Mountain Harbor Riding Stable offer Gift Certificates?
Yes, there are Gift Certificates available.

We own and operate the Mountain Harbor Riding Stables. The horses have clean stables, they are groomed, well feed and cared for by us here at the stable.
